Athlone Boat Club is delighted with the tremendous support and interest shown by the public in recent landmark activities. This support will help advance rowing in Athlone and the surrounding Midlands in ways our club has never previously experienced.

In 2020, we began the development of our new state-of-the-art clubhouse, designed to promote and enable greater capacity for both competitive rowing and leisure rowing for generations to come. This ambitious project was no easy task. Through the dedication of our members, committee and supporters—along with numerous fundraising initiatives and Government-backed grants—we achieved what many thought was impossible.

The boat club site adjacent to Custume Barracks in Athlone has now been transformed into a modern, eye-catching rowing facility. This achievement is particularly meaningful given the many challenges faced over the past number of years.

We are now inviting supporters to become patrons of the club by purchasing a commemorative brick to help fund the redevelopment of our Coosan Point rowing base.
