If you’ve being keeping up to speed with our regatta reports over the last few years and ABC social media you may have noticed the many successes of the Junior girls from ABC in recent times. Their is an air of excitement in the club as our Junior girls squads continue to grow and achieve wins that see them ranked on the Grand League Regatta table at Division 1 J18A standard. Since the grand league format came in over 15 years ago no Athlone women’s crews have won at this standard! An achievement made even more impressive considering we have athletes with 2 and 3 more years left to compete in this age group ! 

As a result of this strength in our squad it was decided to take some crews to London to take part in the British Nationals Schools Regatta 2024! One of the the UK’s premier junior rowing events it will see 5000 juniors aged 14-18 compete over the weekend at the 2012 Olympic rowing venue at Dorney Lake ! 

Crews are entered in the J18 double scull, J16 double scull and J16 quadruple sculls . Nine Irish clubs are travelling to test themselves against the best that junior British rowing has to offer ! We wish each and everyone of them the very best of luck this weekend.
