Newsletter October 2025 Club Update

We closed out September 2025 with our all important club AGM. On behalf of our president Nuala Faller thank you to all members who attended our AGM, it was great to see such a huge turnout. We send out a massive thanks to all our rowers, coaches, parents and volunteers who continue to grow and develop our club into one of Ireland’s leading rowing clubs. As we turn to a new season we can’t but remember with pride the massive success nationally and internationally for many of our club members both young and old this past season, you all did our club and our town very proud! To each member who wears the club colours at each regatta and rowing event your involvement and participation in massive numbers demonstrates our commitment to continue to move our club forward and grow our club.

We thank our outgoing committee members Ciaran Donovan, Karen Rock, Gemma Rockett & Marese Ward Shine for their support and commitment they showed during their on the committee. 👏

For the new season ahead we find ourselves again with a great talent of committee members who will bring to the club their own passion, determination and skills to continue our clubs development and growth.

In October the club took part in St. Michael’s Head of the river where Sarah Rockette won the WJ18A-1X. A massive well done to all jr rowers who represented our club at this head of the river.


Well done to Alan Kenny and Paul Gallen who completed in the 18km #BarrowChallenge this month in New Ross and congratulations to category winners, especially our lads.

⭐️ Hot off the Press- Breaking News 🗞️

We are delighted to announce that Anna O Grady and Sarah Rockett are selected for 2025 Women in Sport Strength & Conditioning pilot program at the Sport Ireland Institute. They are part of a group of 12  female athletes from Athletics Ireland, Hockey Ireland, Badminton Ireland, Swim Ireland and Rowing Ireland.

The purpose of the program is to support current junior female athletes who have been identified by their governing bodies as having future senior international potential and offer them structured and monitored strength and conditioning coaching.

Both Anna and Sarah completed their induction and on boarding at the Sport Ireland Institute on Saturday 18th October where they met with athletes and coaches. The training will be delivered both online and in person with regular check ins, support and will run through to May 2026.
