An exceptional time for Athlone boat club as once again , our rowers have been selected to represent their country.

After days of selection process at our national centre in cork , two of our young athletes have finally been rewarded for all their hard work.

Zach Meegan has been selected to represent our country at the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS and Rian Claffey at the Coupe De La Jeunesse.

This is an outstanding achievement for both these young men and their families.

I would like to thank everyone in the club that has been part of their journey . Their families , their coaches both present and past from every sport they were part of has taken them to this day.

The lads current Head Coach Fergie Hannon alongside his supporting team , Alan Kenny and Aisling Flanagan has been instrumental in bringing todays success to both these young men.

To their fellow rowers that train with them along with their friends that support their commitment is something everyone in rowing understands and I applaud all involved..

It is once again great to see young talent being nurtured and developed in our club by all our coaching team and rewarded with such recognition.
